You Are Enough!

Hat (on sale) // Lip (color - diva)

If I got a dollar for every time I've had someone tell me "Hats just don't look good on me", I could buy myself a new pair of shoes (not Louboutins or anything, but still a pair of shoes). A good majority of the population thinks that hats just don't look good on them & it is simply NOT true. When I get told that, I will follow-up their statement by asking the question, "Well have you ever tried one on?" No is often the answer I get.

Most people are hesitant to go the hat route because its not the early-mid 1900's anymore, when hats were an everyday accessory. Today they are an add-on piece, so when you take a chance with one it really tends to stand out. The heart of the matter is that ANYONE can wear a hat, but alot of people just don't want to stand out. Whether people realize it or not, that is often why they don't think hats look good on them. Hats are a bold accessory that draw attention to the face & people can weary to draw attention to themselves because they think that they aren't cool enough, fashionable enough, pretty enough, ______ enough *you fill in the blank* to wear one but its just not true! Yes, not every hat looks good on every head, so you need try some on BUT you will find on that fits just right & makes you look gorgeous!

So if you fall in the group of the above described people, go out & try you on some hats! You can do it! You are PRETTY ENOUGH, FASHIONABLE ENOUGH, COOL ENOUGH, you are ENOUGH to wear one & draw a bit of attention to your face. Embrace it, your beautiful!

Style Me: A One Piece Wonder

Romper - Chelsea28 (sold out - Similar & I LOVE this one),
Necklace - Kate SpadeBoots - Audrey Brooke, Ring - Kendra Scott,
Lips - Mac (diva), Watch - Kate Spade

These days I am really on the hunt for ease & practicality all the while not losing my style in regards to fashion. My schedule is loaded down & having the time to play around in my closet as I get dressed just isn't a luxury I have anymore (oh the kid free days!). So having some easy, thoughtless outfits that are still fashion forward are a must for everyone's wardrobe (especially if you are a mom with infants or an entrepreneur, or both!). A romper is a wonderful option to have for many reasons...
  1. Its everything in one outfit! You only to need to worry about having one single thing clean & ready to go
  2. It requires zero thought.
  3. Can transition into all seasons. It can go from bare skin in summer all the way to multiple layers in the winter with tights, tall boots & a leather jacket.
  4. A great piece to pack, especially if you only have a carry-on or have limited space.

Here are some of my favorite rompers ranging from the $20s-$80s depending on your budget:

So are you going to give a romper a try? Did I convince you yet? I hope so, you'll thank me!

For more fall fashion ideas fall my "Fall" board in Pinterest were I collect all of my fall inspiration.

p.s. - I love this necklace! It has an A on one side (for my daughter) & on the flip-side it says "one in a million". I cherish this piece so much! Such a great gift idea.

Back In Black // Motorcycle Vest

I'm back in black! After a few months of needed time to adjust to wife-mom-entrepreneur life I am back & ready to roll. Plus I am back into normal clothes again (I can't even begin to explain how excited I am about that!). So lets dive right into fall fashion shall we?

This fall has taken a bit to get going with its 78 degree November days, but its finally here! It may not be full-on sweater weather yet but its time to pull out the boots & start layering. Today I am sharing with you my new layering piece that you are bound to see multiple times this fall, my vegan leather motorcycle vest. It is super comfy, adds warmth & brings an edge of tough flare to any outfit. I got this one at TJ Maxx for a great deal (Oh TJ Maxx how I love you!) and I found some others online at amazing prices as well for you to see...

I paired my vest with a simple tank, my go-to black booties & some distressed denim. These jeans are from Rag & Bone & I wore them in a few previous posts (here, here, here) but I have never really talked in depth about them. I like these shredded skinny jeans because the distressing to me is tasteful & not to over done. These jeans do fit a bit different on me though in that the crotch hangs low even though I don't think its suppose to. Either my hips sit low for the jeans or they are a tight on the thighs & I can't pull them all the way up. Not really sure which but I still adore these jeans regardless.

This is the first time I am wearing a motorcycle vest & I am digging it. I think I want to try it with an above-the-knee casual dress next. Any recommendations on what you pair a motorcycle vest with?

Jeans - Rag & Bone
Vest - ABS (similar option)
Booties - Steve Madden
Lips - MAC (diva)

Back To It.

Hello! Long time no blog my friends & how I have missed you. I have taken some much needed time off with the birth of my first child. I am excited to announce & share with you my beautiful Audrey, born on June 11th 2015 (more about that to come)! I have taken "maternity leave" from the blog while adjusting to the life of being a new mom. Today as she turns 6 weeks old, I will be stepping back into the blogging world! I will not be back to the same capacity that I was prior but I will be back & slowly easing into it.

Being a stay-at-home mom, wife, & co-business owner of Megalodon Group has already proven to be a challenge to get used to as I try to make all of the pieces fit together. So, as I introduce blogging back into the routine I know it will take some time to figure how it fits into our world. I say all of that to get to the point that I have missed you all & thank you for understanding as I took the past 2 months off from my regular posting to rest, recuperate & enjoy the first few weeks with my little nugget. I am excited to be back in the saddle & look forward to many more adventures together!

(p.s - This photo is from our newborn shoot! We got some absolutely beautiful photos & I will share more with you soon, so stay posted!)

leopard print heels, swing dress, bow dress, asks dress, summer dress, maternity dress, bump style, pregnancy style, nashville blogger, pregnancy blog
Hello lovelies! This green swing dress from Asos has been one of the best purchases I have ever made. It is just from their regular line, so it will be great post-baby bump, but until then its growing with me & the nugget I am carrying. Its light, comfortable & cheap. My only minor complaint is that it does wrinkle easily, so make sure you pull it out of the dryer IMMEDIATELY! (I have it in red too - see outfit here)

Lets have a real life moment: I know that my regular schedule of posting has been a bit slower than usual lately. Frankly growing a human is freaking exhausting. I am in the last few weeks of pregnancy & I am just pooped by about 4 every day. My husband & I run a web development company (this is us!) which takes up a lot of time, energy & brain power. Add growing a baby on top & I am pretty much brain dead in the evenings which is when my blogging work kicks in. So that is why the blog & social media accounts haven't been as happenin as usual. Just giving myself grace & allowing time to rest :)

stationary, baby bump journal, pregnancy journal, pregnancy blog, watercolor journal, paperless studio, colette sutton, cute paper goods
There are a few things in life that I am a huge sucker for: polka dots, the tasteful use of glitter, a good cappuccino, cute paper goods... just to name a couple. So I am beyond excited to share with you some fabulous paper goods that fit into that category! There is a gorgeous online shop called Paperlust Studio & it has some of the most adorable paper goods that I am head-over-heels for.

The shop is ran by Colette who is one of the sweetest ladies around. She designs all of the beautiful products in her shop & oversees the handmade creation of each (all while having twins!). The company started out by a frustration of not being able to find a pregnancy journal that she liked to chronicle the pregnancy of her kiddos. So being the true go-getter that she is, she just went out & made her own! Fast forward a bit & you have Paperlust Studio that now sells baby bump journals, regular journals & soon to launch planners, baby's first year journals & much more!

I am such a sucker for a great business that is ran by a strong, go-getter woman that creates beautiful & unique pieces! If you are too, you have got to check out the Paperlust Studio shop. I promise you will thank me!

Want a journal of your own? or to buy one for a friend (the baby bump journals are excellent gifts!)? Well Colette is so sweet & is giving all Scuttle readers 15% off!! Just use the code: SCUTTLE15 at checkout & get 15% off your whole order.

Below are some photos of the two journals I got from the shop. I got the Hello Mama baby bump journal & the Watercolor journal. (With the baby bump journals she gives you the option to pick journal, devotional or blank pages for your journal. I went with the devotional pages, so below will show what that style of journal would look like).

spring outfit, white spring outfit, free people blouse, free people aviators, kate spade tote, maternity jeans, maternity boyfriend jeans, maternity style, nashville blogger, nashville style blogger
Crisp white. Ahhh... so refreshing & so spring. I love some good white pieces in spring time. The fall & winter are full of black & grays, so when spring comes around a nice splash of white is so, so refreshing.

This button-down, flowy Free People top has been on the regular wardrobe rotation lately because its cute while still accommodating the growing bump of mine. My mission to not buy many maternity pieces is a success because of great wardrobe items like this guy! Its so comfy & will be perfect post-baby too. Thank you Free People! You have truly been a pregnant gals BFF.

Voile & Lace.

free people lace slip, voile and lace slip, maternity style, free people, bump style, nashville blogger
Layers, layers, springtime layers! Oh how I do love you. Oversized, flowy spring layers are really making my heart happy right now and nobody does flowy layers better than Free People. This Voile & Lace Trapeze Slip is truly a staple wardrobe piece. It is a go-to year round piece that can be layered under sweaters in the winter or worn with just a bandeau in the summer. For spring I am paring it with lightweight cardigans or my denim jacket & calling it a day! It comes in SOOO many colors & they switch out seasonally which is very nice.

I am wearing the tea color in a xs. This is a very flowy piece, so expect that when you buy it. I would definitely size down if you are wanting it more fitted.

Statement Denim.

free people jacket, denim jacket, spring style, spring fashion, spring wardrobe staples, nashville blogger, nashville street style, fashion blogger
A solid denim jacket is a spring staple. It gives an outfit a more casual, laid back look that is perfect for spring while providing an extra layer on those crisp mornings. The beauty of denim jackets is that they come in a variety of weights, so I have this one from Old Navy that is actually super light weight & I won't sweat in during the toastier afternoons. I highly recommend it for just a great staple jacket & its a steal of a price!

Put A Bow On It.

beaded collar shirt, spring style, gap maternity jeans, sole society shoes, flats with bow ties, nashville blogger, nashville fashion, maternity outfits,
These shoes bring a whole new meaning to "put a bow on it!" Aren't they absolutely adorable. They are a staple flat that Sole Society always carries & they switch out the colors & patterns for each season. They have these darling polka dot ones right now that I adore! I am not usually a huge fan of flats because they can often be plain, but these... these are anything but plain! Sophisticated with a punch of fun :)

Computer Tote.

kate spade tote, computer bag, nashville blogger, style blogger
Say hello to my cute tote friend! This is my new computer bag & I am so happy with it. I have a Mac Book Pro & it is rather large, so finding a computer bag has been quite the challenge. This Kate Spade tote has nice thick straps so it holds the weight, has 2 inside pockets, 1 inside zipper & an awesome outside pocket that fits my iPad. It is large enough that it fits my computer, planner, notebook, iPad, wallet, glasses case & has room to spare! I am really happy with it PLUS its on SALE!! It comes in this great navy & silver combo but I almost got it in this beautiful blue pattern. I am very happy with this tote & highly recommend it!

Thank you so much for reading & let me know if you have any computer bag recommendations!

All Black.

all black outfit, spring style, kate spade cross body, black and white loafers, maternity outfit, bump style, maternity blog, pregnancy style, nashville blogger
Hello Lovelies! I am getting crazy in todays post & going all black. I am one for some color but I just got these shoes & wanted to wear them with an outfit so that they really POPPED! Mission accomplished. I added some red lipstick (this is Nars lip pencil in Cruella & its AMAZING) for good measure to add some personality & to steer away from any gothic styling look I could potential give off.
