My First Day

Fashion Week started on Thursday but Friday marked my first day of being part of the festivities! I am going to share with you a few of my favorite looks & shows from yesterday.

Rebecca Minkoff

I wasn't at this particular show but it's all everyone is talking about because Janelle Monae performed live during the runway show & Kelly Osbourne sat front & center. Also Rebecca Minkoff teamed up with American Express & did what they called "American Express Unstaged" where they showed the show live on RebeccaMinkoff.com. You can see the full runway show & Janelle's perfirmance here. Her ready to wear line was inspired by Latin American Flair that meets the classic American Sportswear & it was beautiful! This look was probably my favorite & it really makes me wish I could pull off wearing yellow!

Kate Spade

You guys know that I am the biggest sucker for a good piece by Kate Spade (in my world all pieces by Kate are good, so I love them all!). Well her S/S 2014 line does not fail to excite! She brings her usual pops of colors & clean lines in a fresh way that makes my heart beat fast for spring! The line is a beautiful marriage of modern + mod inspired by three fabulous cities: Paris, Capri & Monaco. Well done, well done!

Noon By Noor

Last but not least Noon By Noor. This had to be my favorite show of the day. I would wear almost every single look that walked down the runway & that is not something that I can often say. The sister duo created a beautiful collection that was based on the Tree of Life from their homeland of Bahrain. The collection was comprised of cream, pink, peach, jade green with pops of purple & orange. The pieces were either made of printed floral fabric or had gorgeous rosette embellishings on delicate fabric. What was the runway song of choice you ask? Of course it was Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke! What else would you strut down the runway too?! Luckily Miley Cyrus did not make an unwanted appearance.
