I saw the above article in a recent Lucky Magazine & I instantly fell in love!
Of course I need a shoe cabinet, who doesn't! So I have been on the hunt
for a cheap cabinet to make over for a little while now. My beautiful friend Caitlin
works at the Habitat for Humanity Restore & has been on the look out for me.
One glorious day this beauty finally came rolling in & it was only a whopping $70
Take a look at it & all of it's 90's glory!
Even Ducky approves!
After a few days of cleaning, sanding, painting, wallpapering, painting
again & putting on new hardware the project has finally finished! Here
is the new addition in my bedroom, it is so lovingly called my shoe house
(don't worry, I didn't take over the whole thing, my husband did get the drawer
on the bottom... aren't I so kind to share:)
*That is Barn's new favorite t-shirt pictured on the left
it's his "pugs not drugs shirt".
I am proud of the new family addition & it was actually really easy to do & way
cheaper than buying something brand new (even from Ikea!). Also I lucked out
because all of my shoes fit in there! The only ones missing are my winter boots
and they were too tall and wouldn't fit even if there was the room.
Now my closet feels so empty, I guess I need to go shopping right?
HECK YES!!! This is such an awesome idea!!
ReplyDeleteI do something similar to this. I have one of those big 5x5 cubby things from IKEA, and I display my shoes in the cubby's - I've gotten so many compliments on it, and it's super easy to pick out shoes that way!
