STEAL! Dorothy Perkins Collar Shirt

I love this shirt by Dorothy Perkins, the combo of it being sleeveless & the sheer material
makes this such a great shirt for this hot weather. The pale turquoise color fits in great with
this seasons trend of pastels but the glitter adds a bit of spice to make it not just any old shirt.
It is a great length that can be tucked in or worn longer & belted with leggings underneath.
This would be a beautiful summer wardrobe addition & its only a mere $22! I love STEALS!

Family Dinner

Dress - Free People
Body Con Slip - Free People (similar)
Sweater - J Crew (similar)
Earrings - Forever 21
Bag - Target
Sunglasses - DKNY
Lipstick - MAC Russian Red
Bracelets- Forever 21 & Free People

This is the outfit I wore to family dinner with my in-laws the other night. I snagged this dress on the Free People sales rack last week. I love it because it is casual but still very feminine plus it is a great travel piece because it doesn't wrinkle. This baby is going to Vegas (I still need more travel recommendations! Leave me a comment if you have been before & have any good travel trips for Vegas). Looking forward to wearing this in the fall with tights & boots.

Repeat After Me: Peplum, Peplum, Peplum!

 Sunglasses - DKNY
Clutch - Forever New
Necklace - Forever 21 (similar)
Dress - Forever 21
Shoes - BCBG Paris (similar)
This is my little black dress. Of course it isn't just a plain dress, it has to have some pizzazz!
I have this dress & a classic high-waist ballerina dress from Zara that are my go to black dresses. I love this one because the peplum top is just so fun & flattering. If you have been living under a rock for the past 6 months and missed the peplum memo let me help you, Peplums Are HUGE! They are definitely on the hot list because they are so flattering. So go grab you a great peplum top or dress. This black dress would be a great one to get because it is simple so it has alot of versatility & it is only $22! That way if next year you hate the peplum trend then there is no harm in donating the dress to Goodwill because you didn't spend your life fortune on it. I am currently working on a way to wear this casually with sneakers and some fluorescent jewelry. I will keep you posted if that outfit ever comes to life....

STEAL! - Dolce Vita Suede Booties

Ever since I spotted these booties in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale catalog I have been drooling over them. I know they aren't everybody's style but they sure are fabulous! So if you wouldn't wear them you can at least appreciate them because they are definitely pieces of art for your feet. These fun Dolce Vita "Folly" Booties are a part of Nordstrom's huge sale that is going on right now & they are only $66.90 (unfortunately the price will go up as soon as the sale is over). These babies are nice! They are made of suede & they are so comfortable (yes, I tried them on in store). I may just have to snag me a pair...

Its a Red Kind of Day

 Striped Hoodie - J. Crew
Shorts - Free People
Sunglasses - DKNY
Lips - MAC Russian Red
Shoes - Cotton On (old!)

Do I always wear red lipstick? If I am wearing make-up that day there is a 85% chance
that I will be rocking the red. Why? Because I love it! It makes me feel pretty, sophisticated
& (depending on the outfit) powerful! So why not! I used to get really nervous when I
would first started wearing it. Afraid that people would think I was crazy but those fears went
down the drain a long time ago. So I say take a chance and rock some red today!
Mac's Russian Red is what I swear by but go find a color that matches your
skin tone best (the more purpley or orange red may work better for you) & wear
it with great pride. Keep you head up & feel pretty, sophisticated & powerful!

STEAL!

Today's Steal
I love this Express Art Deco Mini Skirt. It is very The Great Gatsby but in the 21st century.
It is a 1920's inspired design brought into modern times (what makes it not strictly 1920's? the length!). This is a great piece for your wardrobe because it can be so versatile. Dress it up with a sheer blouse or one-shoulder shirt OR dress it down with a tee & some high-top tennies. It can go either way & that is what is so fabulous about this piece. Versatile pieces are your best friends!
Thank you Express!

STEAL!

I would like to introduce you to a new blog post addition to Scuttle called STEAL!
Yes, it must be in all CAPITALIZES & with an "!" at the end because its so exciting.
Every day I will share with you my "steal" that I found for the day. It will always be a new,
on trend item for the season that is great quality BUT it is cheap, cheap! So for the
inaugural item, please feast your eyes on this beauty:

This is the perfect summer dress by Dorothy Perkins! The chevron stripes &
bow on the one-shoulder is so cute.  It is a great length & the empire waist line is so appealing.
This is one of those dresses that will look good on about 99.9% of the population. Gorgeous
summer steal for a whopping $45.00! For more info check it out here.

My Sweater & the Hot Weather

Sweater - Trouve (via Nordstrom rack)
Polka Dot Tank - Forever 21
Shorts - Paige Denim (via Nordstrom Rack)
Shoes - Sam Edelman
Ring & Earrings - Forever 21

It is HOT in Atlanta! That is why I am sharing with you a recent outfit I wore with one of
my favorite sweaters. Yep, you read that right, it's hot & I am wearing a sweater. Here is my crazy reasoning behind the madness. You walk outside & you are dripping with sweat BUT then you walk into your office, a restaurant, the movie theaters, a store or any other common place & you are freezing!! They have the a/c at 60 degrees to overcompensate for the sweltering heat outside. So I have learned in order to survive the outdoor sauna & the indoor freezers, you have to dress in layers, hence enters my sweater. Underneath is one of my favorite summer tanks (pictured previously here) & I throw my new trouve sweater over it when I am indoors in order to fight off the cold.

So that is my secret to surviving the southern summer. Anyone else in on my layering madness?

Date Night Part #2

A few days ago my husband & I went on a date night out. First stop... Do Restaurant! (It is pronounced dough). It is a great little restaurant located on the westside in this unassuming little warehouse-esque building  I wanted to take Barn there because it is the first restaurant in Atlanta where you use the ipad at your table to do everything. You place your complete order via ipad as well as signal for your waitress. That isn't the only fancy schmancy use of technology in the place. If you download a free app called "remote" & connect to Do's free wifi, you can control the restaurants music via the app. You can request any song to be played as well as see the current music line-up and vote for which songs you want to
hear. Every song has a corresponding music video that is shown on the walls. The atmosphere in the place is always changing. The lights change colors every few minutes & the photos on the wall transition to all different things.

Am I missing something? Oh ya, the food! The menu isn't extensive but it is excellent. It is pretty simple & straight forward & I appreciate that. They are a pizza restaurant, they know their restaurant calling & they stick to it. Let me tell you, the pizza was yummy! My husband is the biggest pizza snob & he give it 2 thumbs up. Their garlic knots (pictured above) above were incredible!

Next Stop, Cacao!
I know, I know, I have featured Cacao before but I just can't help it! If you want chocolate, macaroons, the best mocha of your life, gelato or just the feeling that your in Europe.... Cacao is your one stop shot! I walk in there & it is like dying & going to heaven. This trip I had a cold hot-chocolate (yep. you read that right!) & a lemon macaroon & they were both absolutely divine. Cacao always has the most interesting treats to, for example, chocolate salami (pictured above). What is that? Great question & unfortunately I didn't ask. Maybe one day I will find out, but whatever it was it looked delicious! Cacao always has the best employees too. When I visit not only do I get the best treats around but I also get the most entertaining & enjoyable service. Cacao is a must! If you are in Atlanta, go! Trust me.

Cacao has a few shops, check out their site here for locations
